Groups and Guided Tours
It is possible to visit the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology with or without an audio guide. For groups the museum offers guided tours on the Iceman, archaeology of South Tyrol as well as temporary exhibitions. Guided tours can be booked in German, Italian, English and French.
Groups with a booking have priority entrance to the museum. This is particularly useful in summer or at Christmas when there are often queues to get into the museum. We therefore ask you kindly to book well in advance.
NEWS: Groups who have pre-booked a guided tour can have access to the museum from 9am onwards, before the museum opens.

Special services
The staff at the archaeological museum are well-equipped to deal with the differing needs of their visitors, from children to senior citizens, as well as the disabled. Please communicate any special needs you might have at the time of booking. The museum is accessible to wheelchair-users, and in case of necessity a wheelchair can also be made available by asking at the ticket counter. Inside the museum, as you make your way through the exhibition, there are chairs to sit on, and the museum also provides easily-transportable folding chairs.
Take a Break
Unfortunately the Archaeological Museum of South Tyrol does not have a bar-cafeteria. In the entrance hall there is a machine which dispenses both hot and cold drinks as well as small snacks. There are various bars and restaurants around the museum.
Visitors with packed lunches can enjoy a picnic very nearby, on the grass or benches which run along the Talvera river (300m from the museum.
How to get there and Parking
The Archaeological Museum of South Tyrol is housed in a historical building on the outskirts of the pedestrian area of Bolzano and therefore unfortunately does not have any parking. Coaches are permitted to stop outside briefly to allow passengers to get on and off.
