Cap

Cap

When you go into the mountains it’s important to protect your head from the cold. The Iceman knew that too, and that’s why he wore a cap made of very warm bear fur.

Hunting a bear wasn’t easy and could even be dangerous. That’s why a bearskin cap was a very valuable possession. The bearskin cap is Ötzi’s best-preserved piece of clothing.

Cap

It survived with most of its fur intact. Two leather straps attached to the cap were tied under the chin to keep it in place.
