Quiver and content

The arrows were found in a quiver, a long, narrow bag made of chamois hide, which Ötzi probably slung over his shoulder.

The quiver contained not just the arrows but also other interesting objects: a string (perhaps the bowstring), some deer antler tips (which he could have used as knives) and two animal sinews.

Sinews join bone and muscle in humans and animals to allow movement. Ötzi used sinew as a strong sewing thread because it’s elastic and tough. He also used sinew to fix flint arrowheads to his arrows.
